Free Town Wi-Fi Internet Connection at the Town Green

The Town of Vienna is providing free wireless Internet access at the Town Green located at Maple and Mill Streets, NE. This is a pilot project. The goals of the Town’s Wi-Fi pilot project are to attract more customers to the downtown Vienna business area, encourage the use of this public park, and enable more citizens to access Town services online. Users are responsible to take measures to secure their devices and Internet communications.

Users can log-in using Vienna Government Sponsored Free WiFi for the SSID. SSID stands for “Service Set Identifier” and is a unique ID for naming a wireless network. All wireless devices attempting to communicate with each other must share the same SSID.

The Vienna Farmers Market Presents ‘Our Saturday Market’

Date: Every Saturday (Except Oktoberfest on October 1!)

The Vienna Farmers Market, sponsored by the Optimist Club of Greater Vienna, is open weekly from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays (with the exception of Oktoberfest on October 1st) at the Faith Baptist Church (301 Center Street South, Vienna, VA 22180).

Old favorite vegetable, plant, flower, and fruit vendors have returned, joined by new and returning specialty vendors selling fresh basked goods, granola, peanut brittle, crepes, doughnuts, and many other delicious (and healthful) offerings.

The Optimist Club of Greater Vienna Announces Caboose Schedule

Date: July 16, August 20, September 24, October 15, and November 12
Location: Caboose #503 at Centennial Park

The Optimist Club of Greater Vienna maintains W&OD Caboose #503 at Centennial Park, across Church Street from Historic Vienna, Inc.’s headquarters, the Freeman Store and Museum.

The caboose is maintained for the benefit of children to pass on the history of the railroad and its importance to the history of Vienna–not only through the 1861 Battle of Vienna but also its role in commerce and development.

Historic Vienna, Inc.’s headquarters, the Freeman House, at 131 Church Street, NE, is in the center of a group of historic properties which include the Train Station, Vienna Presbyterian Church Chapel, Bouton’s Hall, and the Little Library, and two wonderful parks – Centennial Park (the home of the Caboose) and our wonderful Town Green, which adjoins the Freeman House lawn.
