2016 Book Sale volunteers: Thank you for your help!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who sorted, set up, sold, consolidated and just plain helped to make the 2016 Used Book Sale a great success. Every volunteer hour counted and we could not do it without all of you.  Wonderful that American Legion Post was able to host us in a grand fashion this year and provided an excellent facility and food and drinks for sale.  Free coffee was quite helpful for the early morning shifts!

Proceeds from the sale help pay for the maintenance of HVI’s collections, mounting of exhibits, printing of HVInk and other publications and brochures, administrative costs such as stationary and postage, and insurance on the contents of the Freeman Store.

*What is a Little Free Library? It is a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. Read more at
