The African American community has had a long, involved, and storied history in Vienna. The life and work of key African American residents was featured in an exhibit at the Freeman Store & Museum in 2022 and 2023 to educate visitors about these people and their contributions. Their initiatives inspired the Patrick Henry Library, changes in laws, and the preservation of our history while their land helped Vienna grow.
