Vienna Unveiled Through Maps
According to the Washington Map Society “…maps are among the most indispensable works in human history.” Explore the history of Vienna through maps, uncovering once rural pastures, farms and fields now lost under the suburban sprawl. This exhibit draws on Historic Vienna’s permanent collection as well as personal donations and public sources. This unique and informative installation will reveal the history and development of Vienna with maps of transportation routes, property boundaries, pre and post-civil war lands, historic cemeteries and aerial views through the years.
