Historic Vienna, Inc. was founded on April 6, 1976, by the Vienna Town Council and incorporated as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. HVI leases the Freeman Store and Museum buildings and property from the Town, which also supports our programs, events, and activities. For 50 years, this partnership has strengthened our community while preserving and celebrating Vienna’s history.
Our newest exhibit, The Power of Place – Engaging with Historic Vienna, Inc. Over the Last Half Century, commemorates Historic Vienna’s 50th anniversary with a timeline highlighting the events, initiatives, and transformations that have helped shape our community. Through photographs and defining moments, the exhibit explores five decades of Vienna’s rich history.
