A Night at the Movies – Friday November 14, 2025 at 7pm and 8pm

ViennaVA250 is hosting a movie event with 2 screenings of the 46-minute trailer for The American Revolution, a new documentary by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt. The 46-minute trailer will be played twice – once at 7pm and again at 8pm at the Vienna Police Station Community Room. Doors open at 6:45 with live music from an ensemble of the Vienna Community Band.

Vienna in 1775: A Social and Economic History
What was the area we now call Vienna like on the eve of the War for Independence?
Join us on Saturday, October 25 at 2pm – Vienna Community Center Auditorium Free Event | Open to the Public
Join a distinguished panel of historian and archivists and learn about the people who lived in our area at the time of the nation’s birth.
- Discover what they did, what they believed and other aspects of life here such as the local economy, religion and the courts.
- Sponsored by the Vienna250, this panel discussion will set the stage for a deeper understanding of the events leading up to the Declaration of Independence, and Vienna’s role on that remarkable era.
The Panel will include Georgia Brown, Historic Records Manager and lead archivist, Fairfax’s Historic Records Center; George Oberle, History Librarian and Associate Professor, George Mason University; Anne Stuntz, President, Historic Vienna, Inc. The moderator is Chuck Anderson, Member, Vienna Town Council.

Halloween Parade Float – Wed. October 29 at 7pm
This year’s theme is “Broadway on Maple”.
Dramatizing the events leading to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, HVI’s float is inspired by the Broadway musical 1776. Join Historic Vienna, Inc. as they march in the 2025 Vienna Halloween Parade.

Mobile Museum Experience! July 2025
Visit a hands-on, interactive, and immersive museum on wheels. The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience is housed in an expandable tractor trailer that is traveling throughout Virginia and beyond. The mobile museum brings key stories of Virginia’s rich history to schools, museums, local events, and fairs, highlighting every region of the state.
This mobile museum exhibit will be located at the Vienna Elementary School parking lot beginning Thursday July 10, 2025 through Saturday July 12, 2025. Hours are 10am-6pm daily.
