Oral History Project

In 2013, Historic Vienna embarked on a new initiative to collect oral histories from longtime area residents. Since then, the project has evolved into a rich archive of treasured memories that offer insight into what Vienna once was.

In 2014, we greatly expanded our oral history archive. We also made the interviews available for the first time! You can see all of our video recordings on our YouTube channel. On our blog, you can explore full transcripts of all videos, plus a unique timeline of Vienna’s rich history.

In addition to our oral history interviews, we also created a new collection of interviews captured at the annual ViVa Vienna celebration. In this series of videos, community members share their thoughts on ViVa Vienna’s significance to the town.
